Hair Removal Gold Coast
What is IPL Hair Removal?
IPL hair removal is a non-invasive treatment that permanetly reduces the number of re-growing hairs. Light pulses are used to damage hair follicles, and impair their ability to grow hair. Damaged hair follicles are eliminated, with excellent long term results.
How does it work ?
Highly controlled pulses of light are emitted with the IPL handpiece from a smooth, transparent Light Guide and are selectively absorbed by the hair follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages the re-growth potential of the follicles – all without damaging the surrounding tissue.
Which hair and skin types can receive IPL hair removal?
IPL hair removal is effective on all hair with pigment: black, brown and dark blonde hair can be effectively reduced. IPL hair removal is safe for all skin types, including the deepest and richest and richest skin tones.
In clinic treatment procedure
Before treatment the area has to be shaved for the treatment to be effective. A numbing gel is applied in clinic to make the treatment comfortable. A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated. The pulses of light are applied to your skin, damaging the follicles and their ability to re-grow hair. When the gel is removed much of the hair is wiped off with it. The remaining hair in the treated area falls out over the next week or two.
What should you expect?
The appearance of the treated area immediately following treatment will vary from patient to patient, depending on the extent of the procedure and skin type. You may experience some slight reddening or local swelling at the treatment site, which are in fact, positive clinical results and indicate that the follicle has responded to the treatment. Treatment is generally administered in series of four to six sessions that yield excellent long term results. Side effects are rare, and if they do occur, are typically minor. Most people return to normal activity right away.
