Hair Loss

Hair Loss

Majority of people these days are suffering from hair loss at an early
stage of their life resulting in a great loss of self-confidence.

Things That We Need To Know About A Hair Transplant

A hair transplant is a surgery that permanently restores hair by removing a narrow strip of hair-bearing scalp. The strip is taken from a part of your head that contains a dense hair growth and using it to fill a section with thin or no hair. Majority of hair transplants are conducted in the Doctor’s office under local anaesthesia.
In the transplant process, the primary step of the Doctor is to clean the scalp section, and then injects an anesthetic in order to numb the section where a small section of the strip of scalp will be removed. After removing the strip of scalp by the use of a scalpel, it will be set aside and the scalp will be closed and immediately hidden by the hair around it.
Next step, the section of the removed hair-bearing scalp will be divided by the Doctor into tiny grafts containing only an individual hair or a few amounts of hair follicles each. The amount and type of graft used depends on the hair type, color, size, and quality of the section where it will be transplanted.

Our Expectation / Recovery

After undergoing hair transplant surgery, you will have a very tender scalp with over-the-counter pain relief medication recommended. Recovery to the point of returning back to your daily routines and activities is between two to five days after surgery. In a span of two to three weeks after the hair transplant, the transplanted hair will slowly fall out, but you will slowly notice new hair growth within a few months and usually will attain 60 percent of new hair growth after 6-9 months.
How Successful Is It?

For over the last 40 years, hair transplantation surgery has been continually refined. Australia proudly shows high levels of quality and a great record in refining and producing advances in this field. An average of 90% of the transplanted hairs will grow permanently in their position.

What Are The Risks Of The Treatment?

^7BDA7F397B6F0FEE5E33D58023B065F59E72E2893A97036FD8^pimgpsh_fullsize_distrWe all know that any surgical procedure carries risks. Hair transplantation may include bleeding and infection. Some risks that can occur include unnatural-looking new hair growth and scarring. When new hair growth starts, people experience inflammation of the hair follicles. This can be cured by antibiotics and cold compresses, it can also include the so-called shock loss; it is a sudden loss of transplanted hair of which is rarely permanent.

If you want to minimise the previously mentioned risks and improve the success of surgery, it is very important to go through hair transplantation only if you are physically and mentally well. You should always weigh up the potential risks and advantages of any surgery with your doctor prior to going ahead with the surgery
