What is it and how does it work?

Hydro-dermabrasion is essentially microdermabrasion with benefits!

Microdermabrasion has been around for many years. It uses fine crystals or a mechanical head to exfoliate the skin.

This removes the surface “dead” layers of skin, allowing younger skin cells to show through.

Microdermabrasion is fantastic for gently improving skin texture and cleaning out blockages and congestion, and for acne-prone skins.

Done before a big event, it allows for flawless make-up application.

If you look at many men’s faces you can see that their skin actually often looks better through the beard area.

This is because by shaving – whether wet or electric – they are very gently exfoliating the skin in the beard area on a daily basis.

Hydro-dermabrasion takes microdermabrasion a step further.

Whilst the micro-dermabrasion is performed, special machines allow for active ingredients, cosmaceuticals and/or vitamins to be infused into the skin simultaneously.

The microdermabrasion allows these actives to penetrate the skin to a much greater degree, enhancing their effects, and accelerating real visible results.

Who would benefit from hydrodermabrasion?

Hydro-dermabrasion treatments are suitable for dry and oily skin types of all ages to address concerns of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, congestion, coarse texture and uneven skin tone.

Treatments may be performed on the face, neck, decoletage and body.

What are Hydrodermabrasion treatments like?

The treatment involves manual abrasion so a level of tingling, itching or heat may be experienced on the skin during treatment.

This is due to the action of exfoliation in combination with light vacuuming to rejuvenate the superficial dead skin cells. Treatments are generally completely painless and most find them quite enjoyable.

After the treatment

You may experience mild discomfort, redness and/or flaking of the skin, depending in part on which active ingredients are used.

Make up may be worn immediately following the treatment.
